Douglas James Davis Endowment

On March 14, 2004, Douglas James Davis, a long-time member of the FICPA, lost his battle with leukemia and passed away at the age of 52. Doug joined the FICPA in 1979, and was extremely active with the Institute, serving on the Board of Governors when he was President of the Jacksonville Chapter and as part of the Executive Committee when he was Region II Vice President. He also served on many committees including Peer Review Acceptance.

In honor of Doug, his sister and fellow CPA, Beryl H. (Berri) Davis, FICPA Past President, pledged and established the endowment.

As stated by Berri, "Doug faced death as he faced life...with courage and optimism. Doug was passionate about our profession. Like all of us, he recognized the importance of educating the best and the brightest to become CPAs. Together, we can leave a legacy of professional excellence. Doug Davis, a wonderful human being who devoted almost 30 years of his life to our great profession, would be very proud."
